Jin Xie, LMSW

I am an integrative, trauma-informed therapist who works with individuals navigating relationship and family challenges, life transitions, and intergenerational and complex trauma. I believe that healing unfolds through connection—both within ourselves and with others.

I draw from parts work (Internal Family Systems), relational approaches, and somatic practices, tailoring each session to your unique needs. I strive to create a warm, safe, and collaborative space where you can explore how to move forward in your life and relationships in a way that feels aligned and meaningful to you.

I’m trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the IFS Institute, an evidence-based model that fosters compassion, inner clarity, and healing. No part of us is inherently bad; our parts have evolved to support and protect us. This work can be especially powerful in addressing the impacts of trauma.

I received my MSW from Columbia University. Before entering private practice, I worked with adolescents in a school-based setting and with individuals and couples in a community mental health clinic. I’ve supported clients from a wide range of racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, with diverse experiences related to immigration, sexual orientation, and gender identity. I hold deep respect for the intersections of identity and approach my work with an awareness of how sociocultural systems and lived experiences shape who we are and how we move through the world.

Before becoming a therapist, I earned my MSEd from the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a teacher in elementary and middle school classrooms—an experience that deepened my understanding of child development, family dynamics, and the ways early relationships shape us.

I am available for a free 15-minute consultation and can be reached at jin@mindfultherapybrooklyn.com.
