Adult Individuals
We work with adults of all ages, backgrounds, and identities. Many of our clients have had early childhood trauma, which we would define as experiences that ruptured their sense of safety and security.
We support clients in building awareness of their inner selves and outer world, increasing their capacity to stay grounded in the face of stress, and feeling more intentional and in charge of their own lives.
Experiences That Can Lead to Trauma
- sexual abuse
- physical abuse
- neglect
- significant illness/hospitalization
- parent/caregiver with mental or physical illness or addictions
- foster care and adoption
- attachment rupture
- loss/grief
- issues related to racial, ethnic, immigrant, or national identity
- issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum
- specific overwhelming incidents (at any time of life) such as accidents, assaults, natural disasters, surgery, or medical trauma
As a result of these adversities, clients may experience symptoms such as:
- dysregulation—quick to become anxious, fearful, avoidant, angry, or shut down
- difficulty with relationships
- avoidance
- chronic or frequent health issues such as autoimmune conditions
- anxiety
- depression
- insomnia
We can help you reconnect with your best self as you process these experiences.
